Molehill Mountain Episode 9 – Pokemon Goes To Retro NES

Hey folks, E. Zachary Knight here. Andrew was caught using Twitter this past week and is now on the run from the Podunk Witch Hunters. While he is in hiding, Jeremy Powers of Zens Path joined me for the latest Molehill Mountain podcast. We took part in more Pokemon Go chatter, Nintendo’s return to its roots with the NES Classic, and bit more.

  • 1:45 – Jeremy Talks about Monster Hunter: Generations, Song of the Deep and collectors editions
  • 7:48 – I talk about Castlevania, my PSP, and other PS1 Classics
  • 14:10 – Lots of Pokemon Go chatter.
  • 44:14 – We reminisce about classic gaming thanks to Nintendo’s NES Classic

If you missed Saturday’s live broadcast of Molehill Mountain, you can watch the video replay on YouTube or to your left. Alternatively, you can catch audio versions of the show on iTunes or download them from our good friends at KNGI. I will get those updated with the new show as soon as I can.

Molehill Mountain streams live at 6p PST every Saturday night right here on RandomTower!

Based on the discussion here, you’ll probably find this useful. For Pokemon Go, it looks like some people are trying to put together a map app to show where things spawn: http://www.pokemonradargo.com/

That is pretty cool. I am always amazed at the ingenuity of hardcore fans of games.

Indeed. We’ll have to see how well it works, but I’ve had good experiences with similar things in the past. For instance, in Guild Wars 2, there’s a site that compiles the locations of rare harvesting nodes. Even though these change daily, it’s usually pretty accurate. Hopefully this app will turn out to work just as well, making hunting down specific Pokemon that little bit easier.
