Sony Reveals The Full And Lackluster PlayStation Classic Game Lineup

Today, Sony announced the full game lineup to the recently announced PlayStation Classic. Last month, Sony announced the system, to be released in December, but only revealed 5 of the promised 20 games. Those five were Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms. This led to wide speculation on the part of fans on what games would make up the other 15. Of course, Andrew and I made our predictions/wishes on what they would be. Let’s see how we stacked up to the official reveled list of 15 additional games.

Color coding is Red for games Andrew got right, Blue for games I got right, Purple for Both. *Indicates unique titles to the region.

A few notes:

1: Andrew and I both guessed right on Metal Gear Solid. That one was a pretty safe bet.

2: I got 2 additional guesses right and both of those were pretty wild guesses for me. I did not at all expect that Sony would include Abe’s Oddysee or Rayman.

3: I am really surprised that Castlevania: SofN did not make it on the final list. That is a crazy exclusion.

4: Andrew and I both guessed Twisted Metal 2 because it is clearly the best in the series, not just on the PS1. Sony had other ideas and went with the first one.

5: A lot of people were concerned that Sony would not want to include any M rated games, in order to keep this system family friendly. That concern is soundly tossed out. They have included several M rated games on this list.

6: With this final list of games, I am personally no longer interested in getting it. Of the games on it that I like, I already own all of them, or can easily buy them for cheap on the PSN store.

7: Had we got the Japanese game lineup, I might actually have picked up this console. That lineup includes Arc the Lad 1 and 2, SaGa Frontier, Parasite Eve, and Armored Core.
