EZK: Actually, you can get coins immediately after claiming a gym; you don’t have to wait 24 hours. You just have to go to the Shop section, then tap the button in the top right to collect coins – there’s a 21 hour cooldown on doing this.

There’s also a bug presently which makes capture rates get much worse with increasing level than they should be (but even before it, rates got worse with level). Hopefully once they patch this, there won’t be a perverse incentive to avoid leveling.

I have claimed several gyms, as well as assigned Pokemon to gyms in my team’s control. However, I still have no rewards to claim.

It only works when you currently have a Pokemon in a gym, not if you previously did. If you didn’t claim then, it’s lost. Next time you put one in a gym, try immediately going to the shop screen, then tapping the icon at the top (it looks like a shield). You should get 10 coins and 500 stardust. This is what I always do, and I haven’t had any problems with it.

Alright. I have checked it out and you are right. I was able to claim a reward when I put a pokemon in a gym. However, you cannot claim any new rewards while the timer is going. I put a second monster into another gym but didn’t get any rewards for it.
