Sorry fanboys, tomorrow ain’t the day for Nintendo NX info

Nintendo DirectThe Nintendo NX.

We know almost nothing official about Nintendo’s “dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept” other than what I just put in quotes.  That’s pretty much all the Big N has revealed about the sucker and we learned that a year and a half ago.  It’s been radio silence ever since and rabid Nintendo fanboys like me have been DYING for new info.  Nintendo said it would reveal more about the NX in 2016.  Well, we still have four months left in the year and many think September is the month Nintendo will finally lift the curtain.

Yesterday, Nintendo announced a Nintendo Direct for September 1st.  Is this it?  Is it FINALLY time to learn about the NX?

No.

Molehill Mountain Episode 8 – The Lonesome EZK

Hey folks, E. Zachary Knight here. Andrew is off in the middle of nowhere where the internet is considered black magic and you can be burned as a witch for using it. So tonight is actually my first solo show ever. This should be interesting.  I will be talking about the looming Indiepocalypse, buying cool games and systems for dirt cheap at thrift stores and yard sales, some of the games I have played and books I have read etc. Who knows. Feel free to ask me anything during the show too.

  • 2:07 – Castlevania Symphony of the Night is one of the coolest games ever.
  • 9:10 – Pokemon Go! Doesn’t work for me 🙁
  • 12:25 – Things get political as I talk about Libertarianism
  • 22:35 – The Looming Indiepocalypse
  • 39:30 – My Thoughts On Nintendo’s Reach and Marketing
  • 43:40 – Which Publishers Will Resort To Focusing Solely on Development
  • 46:45 – I talk about console purchases and if I am a fanboy
  • 56:20 – Let’s Talk Star Wars and Fan Edits
  • 1:00:00 – Jim Sterling’s breakdown of Mighty Number 9
  • 1:02:46 – Who are my Youtube Influences
  • 1:08:58 – What music do I listen to?
  • 1:12:25 – More Bucket List discussion

Molehill Mountain Episode 6 – By the Seat of Our Pants

There wasn’t much happening this week that grabbed our attention.  Well, other than Brexit, which neither EZK or Andrew feel qualified to weigh in on (not that that stops them!) so the majority of this week’s show is a grab bag of topics and questions from the chat.

EZK and Andrew discuss what little they know and understand about Brexit (0:10), Andrew reviews the Ghostbusters cover by Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott (8:05 – listen to the new song here), they talk a bit about the latest Tropes vs. Women in Video Games episode and address other Sarkeesian questions and comments (25:35), the Nintendo NX is rumored to use cartidges (47:09), and the good old days of expensive old games and the games rental business (54:13).
