Molehill Mountain Episode 21 – Video Games Are Bigger Than Us

On this week’s episode of the Molehill Mountain podcast, EZK and Andrew discuss the longest we’ve spent doing something in a video game we really didn’t want to do (28:58), EA’s use of a real Twitter handle in FIFA 17 and its owner’s subsequent harassment (40:54), and what we thought of Luke Cage (50:03).

Molehill Mountain Episode 20 – Let’s Talk About Boning

What?  Are you snickering at the episode title?

Get you’re mind out of the gutter!  “Boning” is a technical term used in 3D character animation.  Let Zachary tell you all about it (7:40).  He also offers up his impressions on the first four episodes of Luke Cage (15:07).  After that, EZK and Andrew discuss the Will Smith movie Hancock and develop a theory explainign why Superman is such a dick in the recent movies (38:53).  After that, we comment on Phil Spencer’s comments on Xbox One (45:24).

Molehill Mountain Episode 19 – We Know What We Like

Andrew may be available to podcast at any time but Zachary has a life so in order to accommodate our resident, life-having family man, we’ve decided to permanently move the show to 7p PST on Saturday nights.  Yep, just an hour later than normal.  Hope that’s not too inconvenient for anyone!

This week’s podcast was a pretty laid back affair.  We continue Kicking the Bucket List, revealing super duper interesting aspects of our lives such as if we’ve ever been in the paper, jumped out of a plane or ridden an elephant (20:53) and discuss various super popular games that we just don’t like (27:13).

Molehill Mountain Episode 18 – We’re Good Because We’re Not Bad

EZK and I start out this week’s podcast talking about comic books, cause why not?  We then continue Kicking the Bucket List, revealing super interesting things about ourselves such as whether we’ve ever been in the back of a police car and which celebrities we’ve met (14:40) and finally discuss how Sega and Capcom earned internet cookies this week by, respectively, not DMCA-ing a fan game and announcing no microtransactions in Resident Evil VII (44:40).

Positive feedback is a wonderful thing but are our expectations of the AAA game industry really so low that we celebrate companies simply for not doing the things we hate?

This week, EZK and Andrew discuss buying the Japanese version of the never localized Ace Attorney Investigations 2 and patching in a fan translation (4:40), muse about the feasibility of publishers building the ability to patch fan translations into their games (10:55), reveal which games have made us RAGE!!! (34:06), debate whether Capcom would use the classic Mega Man design in a hypothetical new game (44:40), talk about games that made us cry (48:16), and cap off the show with a talk about the efficacy of door-to-door proselytizing (59:43).  Because why not?

Molehill Mountain Episode 14 – SNES Classic Edition

On this week’s show Andrew and EZK continue through the Bucket List and discover a few things that Zachary has done that Andrew has not (27:04)!  Zachary reveals his picks for a prospective SNES Classic Edition game lineup (42:55) then Andrew shares his (1:00:56).  They cap it off by going through their viewers’ copious recommendations of awesome SNES games (1:40:28).

Did I say we capped it there?  Oops.  Andrew finishes out the show by talking a bit about his approach to the use of profanity and potentially offensive humor in his YouTube videos (2:02:14).

The Podcast With No Name

We’re still working on a name but the first post-Super Podcast Action Committee podcast is in the bag and you can watch it over to the left.  This week, EZK and I discussed the sad truth behind my love for LEGO games (7:42), the possibility of Nintendo NX news hitting early this week (30:04), whether GameStop’s publishing plans could hurt its gaming magazine’s credibility (34:45), the proposed “No Sale Promise” for digital games (50:24), and whether movie theater audiences improve the theater-going experience (1:06:01).
