We Pick Our Own Game Lineup for the NES Classic Edition

On November 11th, Nintendo will release the NES Classic Edition in the US for $59.99 (the UK version launches for a similar price around the same time). The mini retro console will include 30 classic NES games and while we all have our favorites, most everyone agrees it’s a pretty solid list of titles.

Still, the RandomTower crew thought it would be fun to come up with our own lists of 30 NES games and revealed them on last week’s podcast. For convenience’s sake, I’ve reproduced our lists below so you can compare them to Nintendo’s. Games not on the original list are highlighted in red.

How Much Would You Have To Spend To Get All The NES Classic’s Games?

nes-classic-edition-box A few weeks ago, Nintendo announced the NES Classic Edition, a small console with 30 built-in games. These games are some of the greatest games ever released on the NES. Since the announcement, I have mentioned several times how this is a truly great deal to get all these games and a console to play them on for only $60.

However, there are some people who don’t think that it is a great deal, that they could find a much better deal getting physical copies of all these games. To me, that is clearly bunk. However, I decided to take a look at how much one would have to spend to buy all these games and a console to play them on.

What do you think of the NES Classic Edition game lineup?

Last month, Nintendo announced the NES Classic Edition (Nintendo Classic Mini in the UK), a miniaturized NES console that comes preloaded with 30 classic NES games. It launches in November for about 60 bucks.

Unfortunately, the 30 games that come with the console (listed below) are all you get. You can’t add more.

So, what do you think about the system’s line up of games? Any glaring omissions? Any titles making you wonder why the heck they were included in the first place?

Nintendo Joins Sega And Atari; Releases NES Classic Console

NES Classic Edition by Nintendo Nintendo will be launching a new console this holiday season. However, it won’t be the NX or anything resembling a modern day console. Instead, Nintendo will be returning to its roots and following in the footsteps of Atari and Sega. Today, Nintendo announced the launch of the NES Classic Edition.

Much like the retro throwback consoles of Atari and Sega, the NES CE will have 30 built in games. The list is pretty impressive too. It has all three Mario games, both Zeldas, Star Tropics, two Castlevanias, Metroid, and Final Fantasy, to name a few.
